Hi,
My sense of the watches is that all three know how to make a fine case. Finishing is is excellent. Omega's finishing is a bit more intricate, IMO. One thing that's note worthy is the crown on the Rolex. There really is nothing like screwing down the trip-lock crown on a Rolex. It's very confidence inspiring. Solid, smooth, and secure.
The bracelet clasp on the Breitling was good because it has a fine adjustment, but the edges on it were so sharp you could actually cut yourself with it.
The Omega bracelet is superb. A little harder to adjust the size on it, but once you've got that done, it's likely more secure than a screw in link bracelet. There is no fine adjustment with the PO bracelet, but the half link usually gets it close to the right fit. The Rolex bracelet now comes with solid links (finally). The new clasp is a glide lock design. Works perfect for, especially with the added half link that the new Submariner comes with now.
The movement on the Breitling is an ETA based one. There isn't any information out there on what sort of finishing goes into it, but it's the highest grade ETA 2800 series generally, and it is a chronometer certified movement. These are easily serviceable, very rugged, and reliable movements that have been around for decades.
The Omega 2500C features the co-axial escapement. There's a lot of info about this when you do a search. I've read about failures here and there, but my own experience (and I'm on my 4th co-axial 2500), has been that they run very accurate and reliable. However, not just anyone can service these, so keep that in mind.
The Rolex 3135 that beats in the Sub has been around for decades as well now. Recent Submariners will also have the new parachrom balance spring. You don't often read about failures, but I think that's mainly because most Rolex owners won't post about them. I can tell you from personal experience that these can break too. Again, accuracy in my experience has been very good. Yes, the movement is all inhouse, but does that really mean a whole lot when you look down on your wrist? That's up to you.
As for which is better, I think all three are different enough that should base your decision mostly on which you like better when you look them. As we always say, "which one makes
you smile?"
The Rolex will cost you the most. It'll retain the value more than the others. It'll also come with the baggage that you might expect to get when you wear a Rolex. As for best bang for the buck, I think it's hard to be beat the Omega. Breitling's tend to be too flashy for my tastes, with the exception of a few, but they do make nice watches.
After sales service at Rolex and Breitling are often touted to be excellent. That has been my own experience with Rolex. Omega seems be getting better at this lately, but I think there are still mixed reports on this.
If you actually use your watch for diving, the Sub and the PO will have excellent luminosity and easy legibility at a glance.
I hope this helps. Below are some comparison pictures. The Breitling's not the model you asked about, but here it is. The PO is the 45.5 version.
